Holladay Backyard Design & Hardscape Transformation
From Open Lawn to a Complete Outdoor Living Space
This Holladay backyard began as a large grassy area. Prolific designed the entire backyard around places to cook, gather, relax, and enjoy poolside living.
We installed the paver patios, outdoor kitchen, sunken fire pit area, garden walls and capstones, lighting, irrigation, sod, and drainage. We also installed an aluminum PERGOLUX pergola over the outdoor kitchen; it is not yet shown in the project photos.
Pool installation: A separate installer installed the fiberglass pool shell. Prolific designed its placement and coordinated its position within the overall backyard plan.
Connected Spaces for Cooking, Gathering, and Relaxing
Paver patios: Room for poolside lounging, dining, and moving between outdoor spaces.
Outdoor kitchen and pergola: A dedicated cooking and gathering area connected to the rest of the yard.
Sunken fire pit area: A distinct place to sit together and enjoy the evening.
Garden walls and capstones: Structure, defined edges, and finished transitions throughout the design.
Lighting, irrigation, and sod: The landscape systems and finishing elements that complete the backyard.

Care Beneath the Finished Surface
The paving was installed on an open-graded aggregate base, with a drainage system and resin-based joint material that allows water to pass through the paver joints.
Those details are part of the project even when they are not visible in the finished photos. We planned the layout, materials, drainage, and transitions together as one backyard design.
As an owner-operated company, Prolific takes personal pride in both the visible finishes and the work beneath them.
Planned Next Phase — Not Yet Built
The backyard design also includes waterfall features spilling into each end of the pool, a pool house, and a 20-foot circular raised garden incorporating an inner raised feature and a stacked-slate sphere water feature.
